Time really flies. I am impressed by your hard work! I can see which groups did pay effort
to conduct research and keep on asking me questions. Some groups searched in-depth information, not
only from the internet, but also through visiting / calling the banks. Some groups have well-planned financial plan
to attain their targets.
Future Plan: The properties price in Hong Kong is one
the most expensive around the world. In
order to save for the down-payment, likely to be more than HK$ 1 or 2 million,
you have to have a wise financial plan to invest your money in a safe
manner. Don’t just put your money into
the saving account of your banks as deposit.
The rate of return from the deposit may not be able to cover the inflation
rate – purchasing power being eroded.
The rate of return of your
capital will not grow fast enough to cover the price level increase in the future.

Risk: Where
to invest? What is the underlying risk
involved? Before you learn how to
invest, you have to learn the risk management first. How to protect your capital in time of market
reverse? How to maximize your return
subject to certain level of risk?
Study: Besides investment in the financial market,
I always encourage students to invest in their own human capital – further study
in Master program in some world class institutions and take some professional license
examinations like CFA or ACCA.
Fin 3001 can only give you an introduction of different
financial markets only. You still have a
long way to go to further well-equip yourself in different area.
